39th International Consular Ball
In 2022, as the Executive Director of the Mayor's Office of International Affairs, Vanessa was the Chair of The 39th Annual International Consular Ball "Lights, Camera, Action: Atlanta Showtime" presented with the Georgia Council for International Visitors (GCIV).This premier event brought together not only the diplomatic community, but corporations, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, business leaders, and government representatives under one roof.
Vanessa planned and oversaw the creative direction, location, budget, run-of-show, partnerships, and logistics of the event leading it to its largest attendance to date with attendees from over 38 countries.
Inform Women, Transform Lives
In collaboration with the Carter Center, Vanessa is assisting in the Inform Women Transform Lives Campaign.
Information has the power to transform lives, it is particularly crucial to women. Through the campaign, the Carter Center partners with city leaders around the globe to raise awareness about women’s right to information and to help cities provide women with information about beneficial city services.
The campaign launched in 2021 and is currently partnered with 34 cities: Amman, Jordan; Atlanta, USA; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Cape Town, South Africa; Chicago, USA; Colombo, Sri Lanka; Dublin, Ireland; Guatemala City, Guatemala; Kampala, Uganda; Lima, Peru; Monrovia, Liberia; and São Paulo, Brazil; Birmingham, United Kingdom; Bogota, Colombia; Dhaka North, Bangladesh; Freetown, Sierra Leone; Maputo, Mozambique; Montevideo, Uruguay; Nairobi, Kenya; Paris, France; Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; Tunis, Tunisia; and Washington, D.C., USA; Accra, Ghana; Baltimore, Maryland; Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; Glasgow, Scotland; Kathmandu, Nepal; Lagos, Nigeria; Mérida, Mexico; Quezon City, Philippines; Quito, Ecuador; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Rotterdam, The Netherlands; and Santiago, Chile.
